Project Learning Tree is a widely recognized environmental education program. Formal and informal educators all across the state take this workshop to provide their students with interdisciplinary activities and information about forests, wildlife, water, community planning, recycling and energy. Project Learning Tree is designed to help students learn how to think, not what to think.

The Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge would like to offer these workshops for local formal and informal educators. For attending this workshop, participants will receive the Environmental Education Activity Guide. This guide will help teach children about our forests and how forests are connected to people and wildlife. You will not be rooted down in this workshop. Activities will reinforce important concepts.

We are currently taking participants for our June 15 and August 10 workshops. The deadline to sign up for these workshops are June 11 and August 6 respectively. If you have a group of formal or informal teachers that would like a workshop on a date other than the ones listed, you can contact us to schedule such a workshop. Workshops by request require a 4 week notice and at least 10 participants, not exceeding 20.

Payment is due prior to the assigned deadline and can be made over the phone or in person. The workshop begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. The workshop counts toward professional development that meets Continuing Professional Education Requirements. Participants will receive 6 hours of TEEAC credit.
